Treforest started the game well and the midfield 3 controlled the game from start to finish.

Midway through the first half a ball from the right led to captain Lewis Thomas heading home to put Treforest 1-0 in front.

The second half saw more of the same and midway through Alun Hughes turned and shot to give the Llanharry keeper no chance and seal a comfortable 3 points for Treforest.

Ton & Gelli 1 - Treforest 0

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

Treforest with a depleted squad had 4 members of their under 17’s in the squad with 2 in the starting line up including goal keeper Shaun O’Rourke.

Despite Ton being in the running to win the league Treforest dominated the chances and it was only wayward finishing that failed to stop Treforest getting on the score sheet.

Ton with their long ball game to the 2 quick strikers found it hard to break down a resolute Treforest side who kept plugging away until the very end.

With 15 minutes of the second half gone Ton went in front through Daniel Griffiths when a clearance from Richard Jago landed at his feet and his shot from outside the area beat the young Treforest keeper.

This was the only time during the whole game that Ton had a shot on target and the lively striker took his shot well.

For all this young Treforest sides work rate and effort they deserved more form this game but the future looks bright for them.

Treforest 0 - Trefelin 6

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

This time Treforest had 7 players missing through injury, holidays and suspension and with only 2 minutes gone Trefelin went in front with the softest of goals when a corner was missed by everybody and hit the Trefelin player on the chest and went over the line.

It seemed every time Trefelin attacked they would score and by half time it was 5 -0 after 4 goals from set pieces and another after a mistake at the back.

Treforest changed formation and faired better in the second half before Trefelin got another soft gaol to make it 6-0.

Penygraig 4 - Treforest 0

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

Within 2 minutes of the game starting good work down the left hand side saw a thundering shot from Penygraig hit the bar and drop down on the line. The ref deemed the ball had crossed the line and gave Penygraig the lead.

The rest of the first half saw Treforest struggle to get into the game with Penygraig dictating play.

The second half started the same way as the first with only 2 minutes gone an attack down the right led to a ball played across goal and smashed in from 10 yards to put Penygraig 2 up.

Penygraig were now in total control and Treforest could not build up any type of passing game due to the hard work of the Penygraig players.

With time running out the men from the Rhondda got a 3rd and in the final minutes got a 4th to finish of a deserved win and a place in the final of the W J Owen cup only a season after getting relegated from the First division of the South Wales Amateur League.

Troedyrhiw 2 - Treforest 1

<dc:subject>Home</dc:subject>

Treforest started the brighter and for the first 20 minutes were the only team in the game however poor finishing seen 5 or 6 chances not trouble the keeper at all.

Troedyrhiw slowly got into the game and scored against the run of play after 30 minutes.

This led to Troedyrhiw starting to dictate play and after another attack with the ball in the air Shaun Englehardt jumped to head the ball but was obviously fouled. The ball came back out, and the ref who missed a lot of things during the game, allowed play to carry on and Ceri Kinsey shot to put Troedyrhiw 2 goals in front.

Treforest knew then whatever they did it was never going to be their day with the ref seeming to favour Troedyrhiw with every decision. The half time whistle allowed Treforest to regroup and bring on 2 substitutes and change formation.

The change put Treforest in control for the whole of the second half and it was not long before Andre Phillips got Treforest back in the game with a well taken goal.

Treforest were back in the game and putting Rhiw under a lot of pressure but disaster struck when the Ref again became centre of attention when he sent off Treforest captain for a 2nd yellow when he went in for a tackle and pulled out but the Rhiw player went down as if he had been shot and screamed out like a big girl. The Treforest management knew the ref would show another card and he duly obliged.

Treforest were still pushing for an equaliser but after a David Williams tackle led to a bust up with the Rhiw defender a lot of pushing ensued and again the Ref became the centre of attention when he showed a straight red card to Williams but only a yellow to the Rhiw defender who started the melee.
